Chicken wings in the oven, yummy!

Baked chicken wings


My husband always gets rave reviews from company when he makes these. They are crazy simple.  We use frozen chicken wings that come in a big bag at…wait for it….Costco. (I should get something for all this Costco advertising)

The wings can be cooked from frozen.

Preheat the oven to 425*F (we like that setting around here it’s like duct tape: it fixes anything)

Line a big baking sheet (we use a baker’s 1/2 sheet) with foil for easier cleanup.

Insert a rack (we have this set) into the baking sheet to keep the chicken out of its own drippings.

Bake for approximately 20 minutes.

Remove from oven and season. My husband likes garlic, salt and pepper. I can’t do garlic and I don’t like pepper so I have done just salt before. Recently I have tried lemon pepper (this one doesn’t have onion!) and salt. Today I used kosher salt and ground chipotle peppers! I think that adding a slight drizzle of oil here helps to crisp them up, but I didn’t do that today.

Place the seasoned wings back in the oven for another 30 minutes or until desired doneness is reached. I like them less dry so I tend to use a total cook time of about 1 hour, while my husband cooks them for and hour after he seasons them.
